Here are a couple of "best things" that parents said about our summer 2023 group opportunities:
~Kids were playing together in a variety of themed settings.
~Individual attention in a group setting. I felt like amazing accommodations were made to allow my daughter to be successful the class.
~The facilitators were wonderful, knowledgable, patient, and experienced!
~This group was right at my child's level- which was perfect! The class provided an enriched, supportive play environment. It also encouraged exploration and fun!
~The great lessons-- big, medium, small problems vs our reaction; personal space/bubble.
~Learning to share. Great time playing with other kids!

Our SLP began working with our son because he was behind in his speech, couldn't recall names of objects and used a lot of made up sounds and jargon. He was frustrated when we and others couldn't understand him. She wanted me to sit in on the sessions, which I did mostly, but we found sometimes my presence affected my son's productivity, so she was flexible with that. She had fun activities and was very positive and encouraging and my son thought he was just playing, while he was actually learning. I do remember at one point it seemed like my son stalled and didn't want to do the activities and was just not cooperative. The next week she came back with more physical exercises and got my son re-engaged and progress continued. She provided me with ways to help my son and had great feedback for me when I came to her with questions. I feel that she did a wonderful job working with my son and improving his overall ability to communicate and interact with others. He was prepared when he went to school and when I informed his current teachers of his past therapy they said they wouldn't have known he needed it, as he is able to communicate just as well if not better than his peers. I would definitely recommend our SLP and am so grateful for how she helped our son."

Our SLP began working with our daughter a few years ago. With her warm personality, she engaged with our daughter immediately and gained her trust. She finds fun and interesting ways to work with our daughter. With her help, our daughter has become more confident in her ability to speak and able to conquer new challenges that come her way such as reading, writing and speech. Not only is that important, what is also equally important, is her interaction with us- she has gone above and beyond to answer our questions or give us the feedback. She was involved with my daughter’s school during her IEP process. Our SLP is very passionate about her work and we are very grateful for her!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our OT and the work she does with our son. She takes the time to get to know him, and customizes his therapy to involve activities he enjoys. She is patient and does an excellent job understanding our son's needs. She is able to challenge him, and build his confidence all while he is working to build strength and coordination. Our OT has done incredible work with food therapy and has helped our son to develop strategies to try new foods. Our son looks forward to his weekly sessions with her.

Our speech-language pathologist worked with our 2 1/2 year old daughter during weekly 30 minute sessions. Our daughter, who can sometimes be slow-to-warm-up to people, absolutely loved her scheduled sessions and looked forward to them! Our speech-language pathologist used play and everyday items/toys to easily engage our daughter to work speech/language techniques and practice into her sessions. We saw tremendous growth during the time she spent with her and our daughter continues to be very positive and interested in practicing her speech and language skills on a daily basis. As a parent witnessing the therapy sessions, I too was able to pick up on the many positive techniques and skills to help our daughter practice. We are very grateful to have had the opportunity!

At 4 years old, my son had worked 3 different therapists and progress was slow and the therapists were at a loss of what to do differently to help him progress faster. We found Robin and she has been a God send. She was creative and was the first to use food to get my son to move his mouth and tongue around. Almost 3.5 years later we see Robin twice a week, she integrates with his teachers and has strategies for all the speech and language challenges he faces in his growing life. I would recommend Robin to any parent with a child with speech and language challenges!

At 3 ½ years old, my son could only speak 10 words. He communicated through grunts and charades. He worked with 2 different speech therapists in other facilities for a year and neither were successful in getting him to speak new words. We are so grateful that we were able to find our current SLP. In 6 months, she was able to identify the fact that he had Apraxia and work with him to the point that he is now speaking in coherent sentences. Through play and repetition, she has brought words out of my son. She has been wonderful to work with and I would highly recommend her.

I scheduled with our speech-language pathologist for a few months in the summer since my son had not yet qualified for summer speech sessions through his school. I was amazed at the progress he made over those few months and I could tell he really enjoyed the sessions. In addition to quickly breaking the ice with my son, the speech-language pathologist was so easy to work with and very flexible. I received many positive comments from other people during this time period, commenting on how much his speech was improving. I had initially not planned on enrolling him in speech therapy during the summer, but I felt that it was well worth it given the progress he made! I honestly have not noticed nearly as much improvement with any other speech therapists we have utilized (especially over such a short time period).
