Therapy
Customized treatment plans will be developed for your child based on the results of the evaluation. Consideration to outside evaluations may be given for treatment plan development. Therapy is provided in our therapy office or through teletherapy with a family-centered approach. It is preferred that a parent is present during individual sessions. Collaboration between the therapist and parents is vital to the progress of the client. All individual sessions include feedback and strategies (provided within the session) for facilitation of carryover into daily living skills. Small group therapy sessions are available; however, no parent collaboration within the session is included due to the confidentiality.
Social Skills Groups
These are small group interactions to target various social skills in a structured session led by a speech-language pathologist, followed by a play-based opportunity for implementation and practice. Goals may include greetings, asking and answering questions, understanding and using body language/nonverbal cues, eye contact, predicting, turn-taking, making inferences, maintaining and ending a conversation, recognizing and understanding emotions, using a social filter and more. The goals will be determined by the needs of the group. Ages of participants are given some consideration; however, developmental age and needs are given priority. Please contact Robin if you have questions or are interested. Please note that these have limited availability at this time.
School Contracts
With over 20 years of working in schools, our OT and SLPs bring much experience to that setting. With growing numbers of students in need of services or a permanently employed therapist taking a leave of absence, some school districts find themselves short handed. We willing to contract with schools for temporary coverage for students. And yes! We have experience with schools utilizing the Special Needs Scholarship Program in Wisconsin.
